FunGlass at the 3rd Teaming Club Conference, Novi Sad, Serbia

The 3rd Teaming Club Conference, held from October 9-11, 2024, in Novi Sad, Serbia, brought together leading Centers of Excellence (COEs) established within the Horizon2020 and Horizon Europe Teaming calls from across Europe. Hosted by the BioSense Institute in Novi Sad, Serbia, the event focused on strengthening synergies in key research areas such as materials science, digital innovation, biotechnology, and health. With sessions on research infrastructure development and sustainability, the conference aimed to enhance collaboration among Teaming Centres to address Europe’s most pressing innovation challenges.

FunGlass centre was represented at this Teaming Club by prof. Dušan Galusek, FunGlass director, Dr. Peter Hošták, Head of the Administration Department and José J. Velázquez García, Head of the Department of Functional materials. FunGlass actively contributed to discussions on materials and physics during the presentation sessions and panel discussion on Research infrastructure and its sustainability, showcasing Centre´s cutting-edge research and infrastructure.

In addition to networking sessions, panel discussions focused on strengthening industry collaboration, balancing R&D, sharing experiences from completed Teaming projects, and the role of national governments in providing additional funding to ensure the sustainability of established COEs and others.

Additionally, FunGlass representatives held discussions with Federica Roffi, Deputy Head of Unit at the European Research Executive Agency (REA), who launched introductory talk within the panel Influence of CoEs on their regions, Collaborations across quadruple helix on „The paving the way for European collaborations and impacts in Widening Countries“.
