Maryam Vakhshouri and Ertugrul Varlik at Winter Workshop in Daytona Beach, Florida

We are pleased to announce that our PhD students Maryam Vakhshouri and Ertugrul Varlik participated in the  Winter Workshop that took place at Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort Hotel in Daytona Beach, Florida, USA on January 20 – 22, 2023. This event was sponsored by The American Ceramic Society and The Ceramic and Glass Industry Foundation . Maryam obtained a grant from JECS Trust and Ertugrul gained an internal grant (FunGlass) to attend this event.

Winter Workshop is designed for ceramic and glass students and young professionals from around the world. The workshop provided a combination of technical and professional development sessions plus outstanding networking opportunities.

Students had the opportunity to visit the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida.
