Internship of Ekaterina Samsonova, University of Pardubice at FunGlass Centre
Ing. Ekaterina Samsonova has been at FunGlass for one month under the expert guidance of Assoc. Prof. Mária Chromčíková. This stay was organized under the Erasmus+ traineeship program. Ekaterina’s research training focused on gaining knowledge and skills in chemical analysis of glasses, measuring physical properties, and processing experimental data.
She graduated from the Chemical Faculty with a degree in production technology of materials and electronic products at Lobachevsky State University (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia). The main part of her research was performed at the Institute of Chemistry of High-Purity Substances of the Russian Academy of Sciences, where she studied polishing processes for CVD-ZnS optical elements.
Currently, she is a second-year PhD student at the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Pardubice (Czech Republic), where her research focuses on investigating the properties and regularities of chalcogenide and oxide glasses for potential applications in microoptics.
