FunGlass Researchers at the 15th International Conference on Solid State Chemistry
The 15th International Conference on Solid State Chemistry (SSC 2024) took place in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic. Since its inception in 1986, founded by Prof. Frumar, this conference series has evolved into a truly interdisciplinary forum, covering a wide range of topics related to scientific discoveries and materials research. The event attracted several prominent scientists working in solid-state chemistry, as well as in the chemistry and physics of novel inorganic materials, who presented new concepts, methodologies, and research approaches. These presentations covered both fundamental research and applied aspects of inorganic materials.
Our FunGlass center was well represented by four researchers, each showcasing the latest findings from their work:
Invited Lectures:
- Assoc. Prof. José J. Velázquez: Metal-Organic Framework Membrane Films on Large-Area 3D-Printed Tubular Ceramic Scaffolds
Lectures:
- Dr. Anna Prnova: Novel AY and AYZ Ceramics for High-Temperature Applications: Preparation and Characterization
- Dr. Michal Žitňan: Dispersions and Solid Scaffolds for Photocatalytic Wastewater Treatment
- Dr. Anastasia Novokhatska: 3D Printing of Highly Efficient Electrolytes for SOFCs
The conference also offered an engaging social program, featuring a barbecue, a gala dinner, and opportunities to visit the Astronomical Observatory at the university. Attendees could also participate in an excursion and guided tour of experimental nuclear reactors and the thermonuclear fusion facility in Prague.
