Sajana Mohanan

I completed my master’s in chemistry from Mar Ivanios College (Autonomous), Thiruvananthapuram, India (2021-2023). My master’s thesis dissertation was supervised by Ms. Binimol Mary Mathew, Mar Ivanios College (Autonomous), Thiruvananthapuram and Dr. Sreedevi, Travancore Titanium Products Limited (TTPL) Kerala. My project was based on the Preparation and characteristics of lithium nickel cobalt aluminium oxide for the lithium-ion battery cathode, in which a simple hydroxide co-precipitation technique was successfully applied to produce a high nickel content of LiNCA (8:1:1) cathode material of LIBs. Highly crystalline material with good structural properties NCA powders was obtained, confirmed by   XRD and FT-IR analysis. My bachelor’s project, supervised by Mrs.Manju.R.Nath, Payyanur college, focused on determining the ammonia content in latex. Our research involved analyzing various latex samples to measure their ammonia percentage. This study highlighted the crucial role of ammonia in stabilizing latex and preventing premature coagulation.

Currently, I am working as a Ph. D student at the Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glass (FunGlass). My Ph.D. work is focused on the use of binder jetting 3D printing to up-cycle waste glass into sustainable materials.

Dissertation topic: Innovative approaches to upcycling waste glass with binder jetting 3D printing for susstainable material solutions
