International Year of Glass
We would like to congratulate our partner – Prof. Alicia Duran (CSIC Madrid) and her team because the IYOG 2022 has surpassed the process of silence imposed by the United Nations before approving any Resolution and the Resolution nominating 2022 as the International Year of Glass will be definitively approved at the UN General Assembly on 17–18 May 2021.
Prof. A. Duran, who is also the President of the International Commission on Glass (ICG), along with the Community of Glass Associations (CGA) and ICOM-Glass have been successful in promoting a United Nations International Year of Glass for 2022.

The International Year of Glass – 2022 will underline the technological, scientific and economic importance of glass — that transparent and enabling material underpinning so many of our technologies and which can facilitate the development of more just and sustainable societies to meet the challenges of globalization. It is also an important medium for art and its history is shared with that of humankind.
