ECERS student speech contest
We would like to congratulate our PhD. student – Susanta Sengupta because he won a Slovak round of ECERS student speech contest, which was held on 2nd June 2021.
The judging Committee consisted of scientits – Prof. M. Janek, Dr. Z. Lences, Dr. P. Tatarko, and Prof. P. Sajgalik from the Slovak Silicate Society . The contest was held to select a suitable candidate as a representative from the Slovak Republic in the international ECERS student speech contest.
S. Sengupta presented a part of his PhD. research work with the title – “Therapeutic ions doped mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles (MBGNs) incorporated polymer fiber composites: Influence of surface roughness on cellular proliferation and biocompatibility”
In this presentation, he discussed how it is possible to synthesize, characterize mesoporous bioactive glass nanoparticles. Preparation of polymer fiber composites with the incorporation of MBGNs. He also discussed how cellular interactions with the surfaces of the polymer composites can be affected due to fiber roughness with the therapeutic activity of Copper. The main aim of this presentation was to establish the role of functional surfaces of polymer bioactive glass composites for biomedical applications.
The Committee decided that S. Sengupta is the winne of this contest and he will represent the Slovak Republic in the international ECERS student speech contest.
