FunGlass has its first graduate with double diploma
We are pleased to announce that on August 24th, 2022 our PhD student MSc. FULDEN DOGRUL has successfully passed her doctoral thesis defence on “Polymer – derived bioactive 3D scaffolds for bone – tissue engineering”.
It is all the more pleasing that Fulden is also our first PhD student who will gain DOUBLE DIPLOMA DEGREE issued by Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín and University of Padova.
Fulden´s doctoral study was supervised by Prof. Dušan Galusek, Prof. Enrico Bernardo and Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini. Her work was evaluated by three reviewers – prof. Dr. Barbara Zavan (Università degli Studi di Ferrara), prof. Dr. Valeria Cannillo from Università di Moderna e Reggio Emilia and assoc. prof. Marián Janek, PhD. from FCHPT STU Bratislava.
Fulden started her studies in Trenčín in November 2018. She was admitted to FunGlass doctoral program to work on joint doctoral topic in cooperation with partner universities. Fulden spent a part of her academic life in Padova and Erlangen-Nürnberg in order to develop her knowledges in the relevant field and research competences (November, 2019 – October, 2020; February and March 2022 in Padova; November, 2020 – July, 2021 and April – July 2022 at FAU). Her stays were supported by FunGlass project and JECS Trust.
Before, Fulden graduated from the University of Sakarya (Turkey) with master degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Last year of her master education, in order to gain more experience, she applied for internship in the framework of an Erasmus+ program to the University of Padova under supervision of prof. Enrico Bernardo. She worked in the laboratory of Advanced Ceramic and Glasses group of the Department of Industrial Engineering, at the University of Padova, for 10 months. After her internship in Padova University, she applied to PhD program in Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glass.
