Assoc. prof. Alfonz Plško is retiring

It is with mixed emotions and sincere gratitude that we announce the retirement of assoc. prof. Alfonz Plško, effective July 1, 2020. He has been with FunGlass Centre for 10 years as university lecturer and researcher. He has been a supervisor of 13 successfully graduated PhD students and an author/ co-author of many publications in the field of sol-gel method and thermal properties of materials.

He will remain connected to FunGlass Centre also after July 1, assisting with coordination of his on-going project VEGA (The relationship between composition, structure and properties of inorganic-organic nanocomposite films for protection of materials).

Our great thanks assoc. prof. Plško for his valuable research and human input to his colleagues and students of FunGlass Centre.

We wish him very happy and rewarding retirement!
