Assoc. Prof. J. J. Velazquez Garcia in a short-term stay at Friedrich Schiller University Jena

Assoc. Prof. Jose Joaquin Velazquez Garcia, currently the head of the Department of Functional Materials, took a short-term stay at advance partner´s Otto-Schott Institut für Materialforschung, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Germany. His department strongly collaborates with the Laboratory of Glass Science of Otto Schott Institute of Materials Research, which is led by Prof. Dr-Ing. Lothar Wondraczek. The purpose of his 2 months stay was to get first-hand information about the personnel and new advanced facilities of the center, speed up the mutual collaboration in the framework of FunGlass project, as well as discuss further collaboration possibilities in novel different research topics. Also, Jose has been involved in the experiments conducted by the FunGlass students (Bruno Wolfrum, Hossein Kandi, Muhammad Umer Iqbal) and researchers (Surjyakanta Rana and Orhan Sisman) that are currently running long- and short-term stays in Jena. During his stay, he got interesting information about the development of our researchers and students.
