Dr. Ashokraja Chandrasekar Completed Research Stay in Spain
Dr. Ashokraja Chandrasekar from the Department of Coating Processes has successfully completed a three-month research stay (July to September 2024) with the GlaSS group at CSIC-ICV in Madrid, Spain, as part of the Horizon 2020 FunGlass project.
During his visit, Ashok collaborated with Prof. Alicia Durán, Dr. Yolanda Castro, and Dr. Emilia Merino, leveraging their expertise in sol-gel coatings and plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO). His research focused on the development of duplex coatings using PEO and sol-gel technologies to control the rapid degradation of magnesium alloys for biodegradable bone implant applications.
He expressed his gratitude to the GlaSS group for their support and knowledge-sharing, which was instrumental in achieving his research objectives. This collaboration has also strengthened the scientific ties between the two institutions.
