Success of FunGlass in the 23rd Open Access Grant Competition
We would like to congratulate to our scientist colleagues Dr. M.Blaško and Dr. E. González Castillo because of their successfulness in the 23rd Open Access Grant Competition, as their project in collaboration with Dr. Benková and Dr. Hrivnák of the Polymer Institute (Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava) has been approved by the selection committee after a meticulously review, allocating 340 000 CPU hours that are suitable to be spent into a 9-months period in the IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic).
The project which is aimed at profound analysis of polymer-based nanocomposite processing involves complex theoretical predictions calculated by implementing a hybrid approach that relies on quantum mechanics (QM) and molecular mechanics (MM), as well as a rigorous comparison of the theoretical predictions with the experimental outcomes.
IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava is a leading research, development, and innovation Center dedicated to High-Performance Computing (HPC), Data Analysis (HPDA), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the aim of applying the aforesaid areas to other scientific fields, industry, and society.
IT4Innovations operates the most powerful supercomputing systems in the Czech Republic, which are provided to Czech and foreign research teams from both academia and industry. Together with the CESNET and CERIT-SC institutions, IT4Innovations constitutes e-INFRA CZ, a strategic research infrastructure of the Czech Republic (https://www.it4i.cz/en).
