Last week, Dr. Zulema Vargas completed her post-doctoral research training at the Institute of Biomaterials, FAU, Erlangen, Germany. She spent 1 year in Erlangen in the framework of the training program for young scientists of the Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalized Glass (FunGlass), Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín. Zulema worked for 1 year at the Institute of Biomaterials (LINK: https://www.biomat.tf.fau.eu/), University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Head: Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini) on the development and characterisation of functional nanostructures for bone regeneration and wound healing applications. We wish Zulema all the best in her future research activities at FunGlass. In the photo: Prof. Boccaccini, Dr. Liliana Liverani (in charge of the training program) and Dr. Zulema Vargas.
