EARMA 2018 Conference Panel Discussion

On invitation of the NCP Poland Deputy Director Katarzyna Walczyk-Matuszyk the FunGlas director, prof. Galusek participated at the panel discussion entitled “Overcoming the participation gap: Can the new Centres “spread” excellence?” organised in the frame of the conference EARMA 2018, meeting of the European association of research managers and administrators. Other panellists included the NCP Poland Director Dr Zygmunt Krasiński, Prof. Manuela Gomes, Deputy Director of 3B´s Research Group (Teaming 2 Centre), and Prof. Jan Palmowski, Secretary General of The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities. During the discussions the panellists, together with the audience from all around the world, strived for finding the answers to questions related to the role of Centres of Excellence in Widening countries, the importance of interactions of the centres with research ecosystems, shared their experience on establishment and management of Teaming centres in widening countries, and discussed the options and tools for closing the gap in research and innovation performance between the advanced and widening countries addressed in the frame of the FP9.
