4th Polish-Slovak-Chinese Seminar on Ceramics Held in Krakow
From September 27 to October 2, Krakow hosted the 4th Polish-Slovak-Chinese Seminar on Ceramics, an event held under the distinguished patronage of the President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Prof. Pavol Šajgalík, and the esteemed Rector of AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Prof. Jerzy Lis.
The seminar brought together leading researchers, including several from FunGlass, who presented their latest findings:
- Hana Kaňková – Determining the Content and Distribution of Nd in YAG Using Laser Ablation
- Ali Talimian – Densification and Grain Growth of Transparent Ceramics: Case Studies of Solid-State and Liquid-Phase Sintering
- Michal Žitňan – Composite Ceramic Scaffolds for Photocatalytic Wastewater Treatment
- Mokhtar Mahmoud – Masked Stereolithography of 3D Scaffolds Using Porous Glass Microspheres
- Zulema Vargas Ossorio – Fabrication of Si-Ca MBG-Coated Zirconia Implants for Dental Applications by Dip Coating: Parameter Optimization
- Anusha Sekar – Impact of Surface Roughness on the Infiltration of Calcium Magnesium Aluminosilicate Corrosion Salts at High Temperatures
During the event, Prof. Galusek was honored with the Polish Ceramic Society Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the integration of the European ceramics community. The award was presented at the seminar’s working dinner by Prof. Zbigniew Pędzich, President of the Polish Ceramic Society.
At the seminar prof. Galusek also negotiated frameworks of possible collaboration with the partner universities in China and Poland.
