FunGlass Team at the (ISASC 2024) in Jeju, Korea
From June 16-19, 2024, our FunGlass team Prof. Dušan Galusek, Dr. Dagmar Galusková and Avnee Chauhan attended the 5th International Symposium on New Frontier of Advanced Si-Based Ceramics and Composites (ISASC 2024) in Jeju, Korea.
Prof. Dušan Galusek, invited by session chair Prof. Chang-Jun Bae (Korea Institute of Materials Science), delivered a lecture on “Silicate Foams and Scaffolds from Silicone Precursors with Micro- and Nano-Sized Fillers,” co-authored by Prof. Enrico Bernardo from the University of Padova.
Dr. Dagmar Galusková presented “A Sol-Gel Method for Reproducible Incorporation of Phosphorus into Mesoporous Bioactive Glass,” offering valuable insights into bioactive glass advancements.
Avnee Chauhan presented a poster on “Structural & Optical Properties of (Y0.2Ce0.2RE0.2Sm0.2La0.2) O2-δ High-Entropy Oxide Transparent Ceramics,” which won the best poster award, recognizing the quality and significance of our research.
The conference featured productive discussions with global experts, exploring potential collaborations and diverse perspectives on advanced ceramics. An excellent social program facilitated informal networking. Overall, ISASC 2024 was a highly rewarding experience, enhancing our professional development and research exposure.
