FunGlass participation at the Annual Conference of the German Ceramic Society
The Annual Conference of the German Ceramic Society- CERAMICS 2022 this year organized jointly with the Slovak Silicate Society took place online on March 7-9. FunGlass also contributed. The FunGlass partner prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini from FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg together with prof. Dusan Galusek from our Centre co-organized a session on Biomaterials as chairmen, with four lectures delivered by FunGlass employees and students:
- Dr. Zulema Vargas-Osorio as invited speaker delivered lecture: Glycerol-modofied SBA-15 rods as bioactive and biodegradable platforms for the fabrication of multifunctional composite systems.
Other FunGlass people delivered contributed lectures in the same session:
- G. Clavijo: Bioactivity analysis of radiopaque glass 45S5 with progressive additions of Bi2O3: a dissolution study under static conditions
- Fulden Dogrul: Bioactivity, biocompatibility, and antibacterial activity of polymer-derived biosillicate-C composite foams
- Fatih Kurtuldu: The influence of gallium-containing mesoporous glass nanoparticles on pre-osteoblasts differentiation
In addition, prof. Galusek delivered a Key Note Lecture (Novel approaches in additive manufacturing of glass-based structures) in the session on additive manufacturing, presenting the results acquired in the frame of collaboration with prof. Enrico Bernardo from the University of Padova. Prof. Galusek served also as a member of the jury for the Young Scientist Speech Contest sponsored by the JECS Trust.
