Incoming student funded from SAIA starts his research stay at FunGlass
In February 2024 Abhishek Dheeven has joined our FunGlass centre as a part of the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic for the support of Mobility of Students hosted by SAIA. Currently, Abhishek is pursuing a second year of Master of Technology in Nanoscience and Technology at Anna University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, under the supervision of Dr. M. Mandhakini. He will spend his five months research stay at the Department of Biomaterials and will work under the guidance of Dr. Martin Michálek (head of the department) and co-supervised by Dr. German Clavijo and Dr. Zuzana Neščáková. The topic of his stay is the Influence of plasma surface treatment on the bioactivity of bioactive glass. In his work, he will focus on the surface modification technique over a bioactive glass to enhance its bioactivity properties.
Abhishek expresses his reflection:
“During these two months of my stay at Funglass in Trencin I underwent a transformative experience, both professionally and personally. I hope this period five months marks a significant phase of growth for me, enabling me to enhance my skills and embrace greater in my work. The cutting-edge workspace equipped with the latest technology offers me an ideal setting to excel in my task.
