Visiting scientist from Silesian University of Technology, Poland, at FunGlass

It is our pleasure to host Assoc. Prof. Marcin Kozłowski from Department of Structural Engineering,  Faculty of Civil Engineering, Silesian University of Technology  (Gliwice, Poland) as a visiting scientist at FunGlass.

His Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) is in the frame of the Personal exchange program for students and scientists as part of bilateral cooperation – mobility offer for the academic year 2022/23 financed by the NAWA (Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange). His stay takes place from the beginning of November till the end of December.

During his stay, Mr. Marcin Kozłowski will be supervised by Dr. Jozef Kraxner, the head of Department of Glass Processing. The main objective of this STSM is to conduct the following research activities: converting of glass powder into microspheres using the flame synthesis technique and application of the obtained spherical glass microspheres in the additive technology to prepare novel advanced 3D structures for various applications, such as air/water treatment or lightweight composite materials.

We hope that the research visit will enhance networking and long-term collaboration between our institutions.
