New cooperation with the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín, Czech Republic

A new project „Surface-funcionalized glasses: concept of artificial photosynthesis inspired heterostructured nanoparticles“ has been approved for collaboration with the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín, Czech Republic  in the frame of the scheme TRANSFER. The project is focused at development of international collaboration between the Centre of Polymer Systems of the UTB through direct involvement of the researchers of the Centre in the research activities of FunGlass. The research topic reflects newest trends of research in the field of photocatalysis, which allows photocatalysts to gain more energy from solar sources, while maintaining strong redox potential, and solving the problem of spacial separation of the centres of oxidation and reduction. In the frame of the project the heterostructured nanoparticles prepared at UTB will be deposited, in collaboration with FunGlass, by suitable methods at glass surfaces. In collaboration with FunGlass new methods of preparation of such heterostructures by wet methods directly on the glass surface will be developed and investigated.
