PhD students from Bayreuth University at FunGlass
Foreign Ph.D. students Mateus Lenze Leite and Alexander Horcher from Department of Ceramic Materials Engineering in Bayreuth are visiting the Alexander Dubcek University of Trenčín during the month of October. Mateus Lenze Leite staying from the 1st of October until the 17th and Alex Horcher from the 14th till the 31st. They intend to test and evaluate polymer derived ceramics coating based on polysilazane with active and passive filler upon oxidation and corrosion at high temperatures up to 1400 °C. Thermal barrier coatings have exhibited and increasing potential in improving the durability and efficiency of gas turbine engines by allowing an increase in the turbine inlet temperature, and by reducing the amount of cooling air required by the hot section components. In order to realize their research and characterize the samples our department provided a lot of equipment – tube furnace coupled with moist air flow, climatic chamber ,nano tribometer, XRD, TGA, thermomechanical analysis equipment , microhardness indenter , UV-VIS-NR.
