Presentation of the FunGlass Center at the Government Office of the Slovak Republic
At the beginning of April, the President of the European Innovation Council (EIC), Michiel Scheffer, visited Slovakia to discuss with key partners from the public and private sectors the experiences of Slovak innovators with this prestigious European program, which has funding amounting to 10 billion euros.
As part of the presentation of Slovak applied research, Prof. Dušan Galusek spoke and showcased the experiences and work of the FunGlass center, which was established with the support of the Horizon 2020 program.
In the private sector, Slovakia can already boast of highly innovative companies that have successfully competed on a pan-European level, such as Powerful Medical and Glycanostics.
The key topic of the meeting with investors and applicants for financing from the EIC was therefore the exchange of experiences with EIC grant schemes and the identification of factors that could increase the success of Slovak companies in the program. The President of the EIC also discussed with representatives of the public administration the creation of national policies that would positively impact the increased participation of Slovak research organizations and companies in EIC programs.
We anticipate that this meeting yielded valuable outcomes for all parties involved.
