Virtual International Advisory Board

We would like to inform with pleasure that fifth annual meeting of FunGlass International Advisory Board (IAB) was held on January 18^th , 2022.

The meeting was led by prof. Dušan Galusek, Director of FunGlass. At the beginning he welcomed the new member of the IAB – Professor Prof. Dr. Shifeng Zhou from the South China University of Technology.

IAB agenda covered variety of issues related to status and progress of FunGlass Centre in the field of human resources recruitment, PhD program, training activities for researchers and doctoral students. These were presented by prof. Galusek and Dr. Peter Hošták, Central Administration Unit Head.

Ing. Marek Šedivý, project manager, presented to participants the visualization of renewed laboratories and offices, which are currently under reconstruction financed through the project CEGLASS (ITMS+ 313011R453). The department heads then spoke in more details about the research activities performed by department researchers and PhD students, their involvement in research projects and the score of publication results.

The presentations were followed by questions and suggestions from the side of external guests. “Round table” between FunGlass Centre representatives, advanced project partners (prof. Alicia Durán, CSIC Madrid; prof. A. R. Boccaccini, FAU Erlangen – Nürnberg; prof. Enrico Bernardo, University of Padova; prof. Lothar Wondraczek FSU Jena) and IAB participants (Prof. Himanshu Jain, Lehigh University, USA; Prof. Dr. Sener Oktik, Şişecam Science and Technology Center, Turkey; Prof. Dr. Shifeng Zhou, South China University of Technology, China; Prof. Edgar D. Zanotto, Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Brazil) brought  fruitful  discussion with recommendations and opinions useful for future FunGlass Centre direction.

We would like to thanks to all participants for their input into the discussion and we are looking forward to seeing each other soon – hopefully next time finally face to face.
