Visiting Professor at FunGlass: Prof. Paul A. Bingham

From November 27 to 29, 2024, Prof. Paul A. Bingham from Sheffield Hallam University, UK, visited FunGlass, bringing his extensive expertise to our institution. With over 25 years of experience in his field, Professor Bingham leads an internationally recognized research and innovation group focusing on glasses, ceramics, energy, and waste management. His contributions to the field extend beyond research as he actively participates in various committees and panels while also teaching Materials Engineering.

During his visit, Professor Bingham delivered three engaging lectures:

  1. The Glass Age – From Antiquity to Ubiquity
  2. Towards More Sustainable Glass Manufacture: Energy, Efficiency, and Emissions
  3. New Glasses for Next-Generation Solar Energy Devices

The lectures sparked lively discussions among attendees, fostering an exchange of interesting ideas.
